To earn some money, several airlines offer sightseeing flights during the Coronavirus crisis. For Lufthansa, this is not an option.
Relieving passengers' wish to fly despite the Coronavirus crisis - that's made possible with flights to nowhere. Airlines from Taiwan, Japan, Brunei and Australia sell tickets for flights with the same origin and destination. Singapore Airlines had planned a similar campaign, but decided against it. Instead, it offers passengers the opportunity to dine inside of a grounded Airbus A380.
Lufthansa does not want to know about such sightseeing flights from A to A. The airline is not even considering to generate revenue this way, a spokesperson told aeroTELEGRAPH. «For environmental reasons, such flights are not planned in the Lufthansa Group».
