Lufthansa A319 sustains damage
During maneuvering, a passenger staircase was driven into the tail cone of a Lufthansa Airbus A319.
It happened on Tuesday (July 30th). Flight LH1068 was supposed to bring the passengers from Frankfurt to Nice that evening. But it didn’t come to that. It had to be canceled as the Airbus A319 had sustained damage to its fuselage at the gate.
As Lufthansa confirms, the damage occurred when the A319 with the registration D-AILR was parked at the gate. During maneuvering with a passenger staircase, the top part hit the tail cone of the jet. As a result, the Airbus was slightly damaged.
Ouch! ??♂️ Sources say this happened in Frankfurt when someone tried to quickly relocate the stairs. Video from a friend. @JacdecNew @AviationSafety @SpaethFlies @HofmannAviation @McWhirterAlex @avherald pic.twitter.com/Zxt7ZIrT6Z
