Adria Airways has been having problems for weeks. Many flights are delayed or they are merged or cancelled completely. Last Friday the situation suddenly worsened. The leasing company Trident Aviation Leasing Servicerepossessed two Bombardier CRJ 900s because the Slovenian national carrier had not paid the bills for those planes.
As a result, the situation has worsened dramatically. They no longer have access to «fresh cash which airline needs for further flight operations», Adria Airways announced on Monday evening (September 23). Therefore, the airline will suspend operations on Tuesday and Wednesday temporarily. The measure applies to all three bases Ljubljana, Pristina and Tirana.
Searching for solutions
However, the management and the German owner are not giving up yet. The airline stated in the press release that it is «intensively searching solutions in cooperation with potential investor». The aim is to get Adria Airways back in the air and to ensure that the ceasing of operations is temporary.
